Natural Hair, A Work Of Art!
When we walk down the streets of our cities , they're filled with men and women wearing their natural hair in many unique ways. Afros, waves, braids, locs, twist, pony-tails, conrows, flat twist,... the list goes on and on!
I spoke with a caucasian man one day. Strangely enough, this man reminded me of how beautiful our natural hair truly is by speaking words with great passion and sincere appreciation .
"Women of color, specifically Black women, has the most beautiful I have ever seen. I feel in love with a black because of her hair. That might sound shallow, but she made me wait for so long to touch it! I used to go to the salon to watch her take down her weave just so I just get a glimpse of her natural hair. I know I looked like an over bearing boyfriend but I didn't care. Just like a RARE painting in an art gallery it should be revered. Just as Van Gogh or Leonardo Da Vinci! everyone else's hair lays flat , maybe a crinkle of 2 but ,How dose and afro do what it does? ... Only God could have made that happen. there is no limit to this art. ..."
This man on and on about black hair! ...Textures, shapes and the mysteriousness about it all. He even said that our afros must have resemble the glow of the female Holy Entity's head. I was blown away!
So you know I wore my open natural hair on our first date...lol!
I knew my hair was beautiful but these words made me feel unstoppable, unique, and downright flawless!
I just wanted share this true story and hopefully it will remind you of how beautiful your natural hair is and how much others love it as well.
♥Stay beautiful Family♥
